Societas Rosicruciana in Anglia.
The Societas Rosicruciana in Anglia (SRIA), whilst not an Order of Freemasonry, nevertheless requires its members to profess the Christian faith and to be Freemasons. It is a highly esoteric order and strongly encourages its members to individual research. Its large and tiered degree structure incorporates elements of Numerological, Kabbalistic, Hermetic and Rosicrucian philosophy. In the early 17th century, the ‘Fama Fraternitatis’, the ‘Confessio Fraternitatis’ and ‘The Chemical Wedding of Christian Rosenkreuz’, anonymously appeared in print and remain the most significant historical manifestos of the order. The Society maintains an important library of esoteric publications to which its members have access.
The Order frequently organises lectures and discussion groups via the internet. These cover an eclectic mix of topics, are usually open to non-members and attract audiences from around the world.
