5p collections

Last year, W Bro Barry Keen approached the kitchens of a hotel at which he was staying to ask what became of the little pots containing jam and marmalade that were cleared from the breakfast tables after guests had finished with them. The result was that Barry came away with a big bag-full of the pots, which would otherwise have been thrown away.
Barry has been distributing these at Lodge meetings with the request that members fill them with 5p coins as they turn up in change, then return the pot to Barry when full. The monies collected go into our charity account. So far the scheme has raised over £100.
